Chassis:
The very last 911 SC/RS built, chassis 021 had originally been commissioned by South African distributor Lindsay Saker. It never made it to the Southern hemisphere as it was sold instead to Dutch privateer rally driver Tycho van Dijk. He had ambitious plans for his new Group B car ahead of the 1984 season but ultimately only entered the car in the Tour de Corse. He would be the highest placed Porsche finisher in 14th out of 158 entrants. It was to be chassis 021’s only period event but van Dijk clearly cherished the car as he would go on to own it for two more decades. It was acquired by the next custodian in highly original condition with a mere 4,979 km on the odometer. In the subsequent two decades, the very rare 911 SC/RS was shown at select events and received Jürgen Barth’s stamp of approval. He underlined the car’s remarkably original condition. In 2024, it was consigned to headline the Broadarrow Auctions Chattanooga sale.
