Chassis:
An early Miura, this Italian market example was finished in Giallo Miura over a blue leatherette interior. While the first owner is simply list as ‘Zampolli’, it could very well be Claudio Zampolli, who was a Lamborghini test driver and would later establish rival supercar manufacturer Cizeta. He also imported Lamborghinis into Southern California, which might explain why it ended up in the collection Los Angeles-based collector and scrapyard owner in the late 1970s. By that time, it had been painted metallic green. It was placed in storage inside Klein’s Porche Foreign Auto Wrecking for nearly half a century along with so many other cars in his collection. In rather derelict condition, it nevertheless sold for nearly double the top estimate at $1,325,000.
