Chassis:
Commissioned by Vladimiro Toselli, this 250 GT ‘Tour de France’ was painted a very striking gold. Toselli raced the car in several local climbs during the second half of 1958 before selling the 250 GT on to Venezuela before the end of the year. Raced at select events during 1959 and 1960 in South America, it was shipped back to France in 1961. It was confiscated by French customs and eventually auctioned off a few years later. Chassis 0933GT remained in France and in the following years was owned by Pierre Bardinon twice. During the 1990s, it was briefly owned by a German collector before it was sold on to the United States. At some point during its life, it had been painted red, which was corrected by the first American owner. The next custodian acquired the 250 GT in 2006 and it was only rarely seen until it was consigned to the 2025 RM Sotheby’s Arizona sale.
