Chassis: 589
The third XJR-10 built for the 1989 IMSA GTP championship, this example was first raced at Del Mar in October of 1989. Price Cobb drove the car to seventh overall. Later in its career, chassis 589 was victorious in the hands of Davy Jones at Portland in 1990 and again at West Palm Beach in 1991. It was raced by TWR Jaguar Racing until May of 1991. It was subsequently sold to David Appleby, who raced the car during the 1993 Special GT championship with considerable success. It then passed to German Dieter Bergermann, who campaigned the car in select rounds of the Interserie championship between 1995 and 1997, ultimately in Spyder form. Acquired by the longterm owner in 2005, it was restored to XJR-10 configuration and its 1991 West Palm Beach livery between 2016 and 2017. At this point, it was fitted with a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6. Not raced since, it was consigned to the 2025 RM Sotheby’s Paris sale.
