Chassis:
Using the original blueprints and moulds, this MS640 was constructed during the 1990s with full approval of Matra Sports. Race car constructor Norma was tasked with the construction of the chassis, while an existing Matra V12 was used and the ZF five-speed gearbox original could be salvaged. Once completed, it was equipped with sophisticated electronics to monitor any movement in the bodywork. In April of 2006, the reconstructed MS640 was entrusted to Henri Pescarolo for high-speed runs at Brétigny airbase. Proving the concept, the brave Frenchman run the car up to speeds of 300 km/h. While the car has not competed in historic races, it has been demonstrated at a variety of events. In 2025, it was consigned to the Bonhams Les Grandes Marques du Monde à Paris sale.
