Featured is one of the most famous 'Phaeton' styles fitted on the Duesenberg chassis. Designed by Gordon Buehrig, Derham built eight of these Tourster bodies. It was so popular that in later years a larger number of other chassis received similar coachwork, but not by Derham. The pictured car was completed in October 1931, and served as a towing vehicle for Howard Hughes famous gliders. It is seen here at the 2005 Eyes On Design show.
