Chassis:
Clothed by Stabilimenti Farina, this Cisitalia was completed in in 1949. It was originally sold to Carlo Ponti, who was a famous Italian movie producer and the husband of Sophia Loren. Ponti, crucially, was also a great Cisitalia enthusiast and this car was one of several he owned. He nevertheless only owned it briefly but it remained in Italy until it was acquired by a Belgian collector. He had the car comprehensively restored in Italy before consigning it to the 2016 Artcurial Retromobile auction. It was sold to an American enthusiast, who entrusted it to Rare Classics Restorations of Boca Raton for some cosmetic updates. The exterior colour was changed from green to a light grey, while a cognac interior was fitted. Not shown since the work was completed, it was consigned to the 2025 Gooding Amelia Island Auctions.
