First pressed into service during the 1990 season, this is the second 300 ZX built to IMSA GT specification by Clayton Cunningham Racing. Raced extensively into the 1992 season, it was driven to class wins by Steve Millen at Mosport and Road America in 1990, and at Mid Ohio by Jeremy Dale the following year. In 1992, Dale scored an outright victory at Mosport in 002 before it placed second in class at Sebring with Dale, Millen and John Morton driving. Not raced after Sebring, it was sold in as-raced condition by Clayton Cunningham to the late Toby Bean in 1999. From his estate, it was sold in 2017. Chassis 002 was subsequently restored to full running order, using a twin-turbocharged V6 and the bespoke Clayton Cunningham Racing five-speed gearbox. In 2019, it was raced at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The second private owner then consigned the rare Nissan 300 ZX IMSA racer to the 2025 Gooding Amelia Island Auctions.
