Chassis:
This Martini liveried works car was first raced in the Portugal round of the 1989 World Rally Championship with Mike Biasion and Siviero Tiziano. Entered as the #1, it scored a debut victory. Later in the year Michael Ericsson and Claes Billstam added another victory to the tally, in Argentina. After a third place finish in Australia with Markku Alén and Ikka Kivimäki, chassis 458689 was retired from works service. It was eventually sold and campaigned in local and international events between 1991 and 1992. The two-time WRC rally winning Delta was acquired by a long-term owner in 2000. In his custodianship, it was restored to its original configuration and livery by a former Abarth mechanic. Following a 25-year single ownership, it was consigned to the 2025 RM Sotheby’s Milan sale.
