Chassis:
Although Ferrari intended to produce just 599 examples of the Daytona SP3, one additional chassis was produced in 2025 to be sold at auction for charity. Tagged with serial number 599+1 and built to US specification, it was finished by the Ferrari Tailor Made team in a two-tone Giallo Modena and exposed carbon-fibre colour scheme with a Ferrari logo running from nose to tail. On the inside, the 600th Daytona SP3 sports a bespoke interior with a cutting-edge Q-Cycle fabric upholstery developed from recycled tires. With all other Daytona SP3s sold long before the car was officially announced, this represents a unique opportunity to acquire a brand new example on the open market. It was consigned to the 2025 RM Sotheby’s Monterey sale with the proceeds benefiting the Ferrari Foundation. RM Sotheby’s had also waived the buyer’s premium on the lot. After a remarkable bidding frenzy, the Tailor Made Daytona SP3 sold for a staggering $26 million making it the most expensive new car ever sold and also the top seller of the 2025 Monterey Car Week.
