One of the updated 911 RSR-17s built ahead of the 2017 season, this car was not used competitively in period. Instead, it served as a spare to the factory GT campaign ensuring the car has survived without the regular wear and tear of a racing life. In 2019, it was used for promotional purposes as it was liveried in the same Bob Akin inspired Coca Cola colours as its sister car that raced at the Petit Le Mans. It was famously used on the roads of downtown Atlanta by Patrick Long for the short ‘Porsche x Coca Cola’ film. Still wearing the Coca Cola livery, it was then sold to a private collector early in 2020. It has since been used mainly for private testing and driven at one historic event at Road America. In 2025, chassis 905 was consigned to Gooding Christie’s flagship Pebble Beach Auctions.
