Chassis:
A works car, this M8 GTE was first field by BMW M Motorsports Team RLL at the 2020 Daytona 24 Hours with John Edwards, Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn and Chaz Mostert sharing the driving duties. It scored a historic GTLM class victory, which was the first time a BMW scored a Daytona class win since the V12 LMR won outright in 1999. Chassis 1809 continued to be used during the remained of the season and scored five more podium finishes. In doing so, it helped BMW finish second in the GTLM Driver, Team and Manufacturer championships. The M8 GTE was pressed into service once more, at Daytona in 2021, where it placed third in class. Early in 2022, it was tested at Palm Beach International Raceway before it was sold to a private custodian later that year. One of only a handful of works cars that left BMW ownership, it was then consigned to the 2025 Gooding Christie’s Pebble Beach Auctions.
