Chassis:
The third of seven FW19s built, this car was first used in pre-season testing at Magny Cours with both Jacques Villeneuve and Heinz-Harald Frentzen taking turns behind the wheel. It served mainly as a spare car throughout the season for Villeneuve, including in Australia, Monaco, Germany, Japan and at the season finale in Jerez. It was raced only once, at the Brazilian Grand Prix where Frentzen used FW19-03 to finish ninth. As part of a standing agreement between Williams and engine supplier Renault, it joined the Renault Collection on October 1st, 1998. A complete car, it was fitted with a functional V10 engine that was predominantly used for testing throughout the season. Retained by Renault for over 25 years, it was consigned as one of the headliners of the Artcurial Renault Icons sale.
