Chassis:
Sold new to Luigi Chinetti’s North American Racing Team in 1966, this rare Berlinetta 206 Dino S was immediately in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Nino Vaccarella and Mario Casoni. They qualified 24th but retired early from the race with a water leak. It was then entered in several Can-Am races for Pedro Rodriguez with little luck. Between 1967 and 1969, it was raced in major long distance events like the Sebring 12 Hours, Daytona 24 Hours, Reims 12 Hours and two more editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Sold to William Harrah immediately after, it then had several American owners before it joined a prominent American collection in 1989. It was shown and raced at several events during the early 1990s but was only rarely seen until it was consigned to the 2026 Gooding Christie’s Pebble Beach Auctions with several other cars from the same, superb stable.
