Chassis:
This was one of three TR59s retained by the factory at the end of the season and updated to TR59/60 specification. Neither in its 1959 or 1960 guise chassis 0770TR was particularly successful, mainly recording DNFs. After two years of works service it was sold to North America and again raced with little success. It was subsequently fitted with a 3.5 litre 290 MM engine in 1961 and even larger 375 MM unit in 1962. It finally ended up with a stock Ford V8 with which it competed in its last contemporary races. It was not until the late 1990s that the car we reunited in with its 3-litre V12. After it was fully restored, the 250 TR59/60 was shown at various concours throughout North America. It is seen here at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where all four surviving 250 TR59s were reunited for the first time.
