Chassis:
Alfa Romeo only applied chassis tags on their racing cars for customs reasons and rarely the same one on the same chassis twice. So it is virtually impossible today to track down the individual history of the cars that exist today. What is known about this Alfa Romeo 158 'Alfetta' is that it was one of the cars built in 1940 and subsequently upgraded to the type's final specification in 1950. It remained at the factory in rather derelict condition until the late 1980s when it was traded for the formidable 8C 2900 Touring Le Mans Coupe. As a result, it became the first and only Alfetta in private hands. Beautifully restored, chassis '159.107' is currently owned by a Swiss collector and historic racer. He is seen here in action during the 2009 Goodwood Revival.
