Chassis:
Completed in 1947, this is one of the first D46s equipped with side fuel-tanks to extend the range. It is believed to have served as one of the works cars before it was displayed on the Cisitalia stand during the 1948 Paris Auto Salon. Chassis 0020 was soon after acquired by French privateer racer Roger Loyer, who raced it extensively under the 'Ecurie Paris' banner until selling it to Australia in 1951. The D46's racing career continued Down Under and it remained in Australia until the 1980s when it was acquired by an American collector. He spent the next ten years restoring the diminutive racer to concours standards.
