Chassis: 87G-2
Chassis 87G-2 was the second of two R87Es raced by Nissan in 1987. At its debut, during the Fuji 1000 km, it qualified on pole only to retire with engine failure. At Le Mans, where it is pictured here, it also retired, this time with electric problems. It was subsequently converted to R88C specifications and raced for another season. In this guise, it scored a podium finish late in 1988. The car also made it to the finish at its second Le Mans, eventually placing 14th.
