Chassis:
Featured is one of the twelve pre-production prototypes, which were used in the 1964 and 1965 seasons for racing and development purposes. This particular chassis, s/n 105, took up the bulk of the testing and was raced only once at the 1964 Reims 12 Hours race where it failed to finish with gearbox problems. It was the first car to receive the larger Cobra engine and was used during the 1965 Le Mans test weekend to try a wide variety of wheels and tyres. At the end of its duties as a development vehicle, Ford GT 105 looked very similar to the production cars. Being one of the very few survivors of the twelve prototypes, the current owner decided to convert the car back to an earlier specification with the original nose treatment and wire wheels. It is seen here in action at several editions of the Goodwood Revival.
