Chassis:
This was the first of three new P34s built for the 1977 season. It was raced throughout the season by Swedish driver Ronnie Petterson. He struggled for much of the year but did manage to score a single podium finish; at the Belgian Grand Prix. Today it is owned by an Italian historic racer, who has followed in Martin Stretton's foot-steps and extensively raced the unusual machine in historic events. He is seen here at Monaco in 2006, when he finished second behind Stretton, and in 2008. P34/5 was also demonstrated at the 2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed where 'convention defying' racing cars were celebrated.
