Completed on April 26th of 1967, chassis 0706 was one of the pre-production prototypes. The differences compared to the final production cars are subtle. One of the most prominent is reverse-rotating crankshaft. It was acquired by the current owner, a prominent American collector, later in the year. He was so taken by the Miura that he traveled to the factory to buy the first one available. In 2008 this very special Miura was one of a dozen Lamborghinis lined up along the Pacific coast for that year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where Lamborghini was one of the featured marques. The car was awarded the Polyphony Digital Trophy, which earned it a place in the popular Playstation video game Gran Turismo 5.
