Chassis:
Interestingly the first owner of this SSK was the Honourable Dorothy Paget; she was also one of the main sponsors of Henry Birkin. This 'Bentley Boy' was the father of the 'Blower' Bentley, which he and his friends regularly raced against the SSKs. Before taking delivery, Dorothy Paget had the big Mercedes clothed by Barker of London with a stylish roadster body. A true enthusiast, Dorothy Paget reportedly drove the ferocious machine herself at numerous occasions. One of only a handful of genuine survivors, chassis 36242 eventually ended up in the fabulous Briggs Cunningham museum in the United States. After his death in the late 1980s, it passed into the hands of a fellow Florida-based collection where it still resides today.
