Chassis:
Completed in the spring of 1956, chassis 0622 MDTR was sold new to an American privateer racer. He sold the car on to the next owner after just two months and it changed hands three times again before the end of its contemporary racing career in the early 1960s. During this period the the 500 TR was campaigned quite successfully and had a particularly good run in Nassau at the end of 1956. By the mid 1990s the car was completely disassembled and in need of a full restoration. From 1999 onwards the fully restored machine is a regular entrant in events on both sides of the Atlantic. It is seen here at the 2004 Le Mans Classic.
