This Long Tail F1 GTR made its competitive debut at the 1997 Le Mans test in the hands of the BMW Motorsport team. It was also raced in the 24 Hours by the works team but an accident cut the effort short. For the remainder of the season it was campaigned by the Gulf Team Davidoff with 7th as the best result. Chassis 24R was subsequently sold to Steve O'Rourke and fielded by his EMKA team in the British GT Championship with a lot of success for two seasons. It was also raced to an impressive 4th overall at Le Mans in 1998 where regular drivers O'Rourke and Tim Sugden were joined by Bill Auberlen. The much campaigned F1 GTR has been meticulously restored to its most successful, EMKA colours. It is today owned by a prominent British collector and historic racer.
