Chassis:
The penultimate Ferrari 275 GTB/C built, chassis 09079 was delivered new to Filipinetti Racing in Switzerland. They entered the car for Dieter Spoerry and Rico Steinemann in the 1967 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It placed 11th and a fabulous first in class at its competition debut. The car was raced at Le Mans twice again and also won its class in 1969 Spa 1000 km. During the 1980s, it was heavily damaged in a garage fire but it has since been meticulously restored in Italy. Following a spell in Japanese hands, it was briefly in American ownership during the mid-2000s and shown at Pebble Beach in 2006. The current owner acquired the car in 2008 and has since campaigned it in select historic events. It has now been consigned to Bonhams' January 2015 Scottsdale auction.
