Chassis:
Featured is the second of a series of six Type 39s produced in 1925 specifically for the Italian Grand Prix. It was raced successfully at Monza in the Voiturette class, before being sold to Australia. There it was used extensively in various races and land speed record attempts. Despite its active racing career '4604' has survived in remarkable original condition. After the current British owners bought the car it was carefully restored, using the original parts and body panels wherever possible. This helped give the car an authentic rather than a 'perfect' appearance. Upon completion of the restoration, it was driven at the 2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
