The fourth FW06 built was entered for Alan Jones in the first four Grands Prix in 1979. The Australian scored the FW06's best result of the season in this car by finishing third in the US GP West at Long Beach. Later in the season the car joined two of the others in the Aurora AFX Championship with outings in the hands of Lella Lombardi and Giorgio Pianta. Today the final FW06 is owned by a prominent British historic racer and regularly campaigned.
