The featured 340 MM with s/n 0294AM was first raced by the Works team as a Touring Spyder and driven to a victory Silverstone by Mike Hawthorn. It was then sold to a Swiss privateer, who heavily crashed the car and sent it back to the factory. It was repaired and fitted with a Scaglietti body along the lines of the 750 Monza before being sold to the United States in 1955. Still sporting its 'new' body, it is seen here during the 2004 and 2006 Le Mans Classic.
