During a brief spell, two well known US designers worked together in Europe in order to supply the American market with exclusive European coach work, mainly built on Belgian Minerva chassis. Later on, many other chassis were used, including Duesenberg and Hispano. In 1931, Hibbard became designer with General Motors and returned to the USA. In 1929 they patented a system called SilentLyte, which used aluminium castings for most of the body panels.
