Ernie McAfee's 208S (Showroom New) was prepped for the Pan-America race in 195? For this Ernie assigned a crew with orders to lighten the car as much as humanly possible. For the next couple of months and thousands of drill bits later they declared success. One of Ernie's friends suggested that he name it 'Swiss Cheese' but Ernie insisted that more approprately be called "El Disco Stelvio" (The Flying Sieve) in keeping with it's Italian heritage. |
