The Fw14b on the outside did not look much different from the fw14 used the previous year but boy was it quick, This car was equipped with a multitude of new gizmos like active suspension which maximized undercar downforce, traction control which is used on the latest f1 cars, and even ABS brakes, and the Renault V10 engine. It completely outpaced everything, Mclaren were stuck with the Honda v12 which clearly was not as good as the renault senna feared and no other team could design a car to use the new technologies williams had introduced until next year. Williams were laughing, It was only until the decided to use componants of TNT in their engine fuel that they encountered some reliability problems otherwise they may well of won every race of the season |
