 RS6 the ultimate experience

Very civilized when beholding the car design. Nice & discrete design but... when you watch the enginge you understand why this car is so special. Cosworth technology just says it all. Just take your family with you on a long trip step on the gas and... liftoff!

MB will have their own customers, Audi and BMW will also have their own customers. Those who want to have the ultimate luxury in a very fast package will still choose the MB, but those who want the raw and sporty feel, will choose either the AUdi or BMW. It's simple! The RS6 may be good, but it's now old. Time for a new replacement Audi!

Well two whoever said this car makes the current M5 look vintage, it obviously would, because the current M5 is on its way out. but have some respect. Upon its release, the current M5 was the fastest sedan on the market, and outfitted with a little bit of Steve Dinan Magic, you can boost your M5 to 470 horsepower, and 410 lb-ft of torque for a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds. Yeah i knwo everyones gonna say tuning the car doesnt count, but the DInan process still gives you the remainder of the warranty and leaves the car naturally aspirated. So dont discount the M5 yet. The Audi RS6 could however be the greatest all around car ever launched. Its great for where i live (montreal), seeing as the quattro four wheel drive is a good thing to have in winter. However, unfortunately quattros predominent handling characteristic is understeer, and generally limits driver imput. The new M5 will once again raise the bar, and im curious to see how high that bar will go.

Would certainly beat anything that audi can throw at it, the audi is merely a toy compared to the iron fist in armani suit of the E55. So what if Clarkson likes it, he also likes the A2, which makes me think he is getting alternative forms of income! and anyway, much of the 5 series design had time to be changed before the launch date, it is not gonna be a smaller seven series because Bangle, for all his evilness, said BMW was through with Cookie Cutter cars. If ytou've read my comments about the Mazda RX-8 you will see that i am a reformed Audi Fan, as i don't wanna be associated with hopelessly biased pplz like urself.
it will deffinately be better than the new M5

Wait a second people. Before you all go running your mouths about the next M5 having 50HP more than the RS6 let me tell you all this, horsepower is not everything. Secondly if you all hate the styling of the new seven you all will deffinately hate the new 5. It looks very much like the seven but with very few changes and it is smaller(obviously)The rs6 looks damn clean and it looks so simple yet beautiful that it makes the current M5 look vintage. The E55 can just go to hell with its styling and sure it has more power than the Rs6 but it does not have that wonderful quattro so the E55 would deffinately be a more difficult car to drive than the RS6. And yes of you have watched Clarkson drving the car he said in wet conditions, everytime you step the accelerator just a bit the traction lights will start flashing no matter what speed you are at and that could be quite distracting and irritating but you can always turn off that damn thing but that is not the point, the point is that Mercedes Benz may have better racing history and they may be more advanced than Audi and BMW would be overall more famous and more refined but both of them have just lost the battle to a company that has been very quiet lately and thought that they better make some niose and they just did. Mercedes Benz and BMW are going to have a major problems!!
 very nice!!

Wake me up in a few years when the used price for these has dropped to 15k. Fast cars are best fun after a fat-cat has debugged and run-it-in it for you. :-)

I have been studying cars for a long time. The Audi RS6 is by far the best car I've ever seen or know about in my life.
 RS6 with 650 nm

Just after the car was presented there was someone I know how got one for tuning purpuse. First they put it up to 600nm and when they got on the Autobahn they already left evreything on the left lane behind. (passing on the right is not allowed in Germany). With 650nm they had all 4 whells burning out from 80 -120 kmh. He said that this Rs6 will waste anyting on the street and goes over 330. :)

The Audi RS6 does not goe 330kph, it instead has a soft limiter that allows up to a 280KP/h set maximum. An Audi engineer said, in an interview in wheels magazine, that the car would only hit 306 KP/h if no limiter was allowed, so quit with the bull.
 without the limiter.........

well im sorry to disappoint u motorhead but the rs6 wouldnt trash all these cars just yet i agree this is one of the most exciting cars i have ever seen i love it actually but still an m5 would always have that cutting edge whereas the excessive safety in audi kill some of the pleasure in the ride well i dont think u should compare it to a carrera either being some 500 kg heavier (and 120 heavier than m5)and the carrera being a differnt class of cars i mean come on if u had to choose which one would u take anyway lets wait for the new m5 then we'll have sumthin to really compare till then i admit this car is top of the pile but still i'd have the m5
 Ok here's the deal

I'm in Oz as well and have found out that like the RS4 before it the RS6 will have 25 examples being offered in Australia in both Estate and Sedan form. The RS6 actually has 50hp MORE than any HSV you care to mention as the current HP ceiling that HSV offer stops at 400hp. Now that said, I would personally rather have a RWD car than AWD and a manual too. My pick would still be an M5 as it has a brilliant RWD chassis and a slick manual gearbox. However for excursions to the snow fields, an RS6 sedan would be my top choice =) If I had the money :-(
dont just give up on the E55 and the M5 yet

agreed that the present generation of the E55(W220) produces only 349bhp(in a comparitive sence) and the M5(E39) produces only 400bhp, wait till u see what benz and BMW have in store for their replacements for the millenium. The E55(W211) Kompressor is going to hit the showrooms soon. This car is equipped with the latest of the AMG supercharged engines churning out 500 horses and having a 0-60 time of under 4.7s. The M5 on the other hand is even more exciting. Although BMW has not officially confirmed the news, insiders say that it too will have a 500hp 5.5V10 engine which will be offered in stick(WOOHOO). Im sure the 0-60 for this car will be in the lower 4 seconds if not sub 4?. Considering the practicality, performance and handling of these babies, why would i look at a 911 carerra,a 550 maranello or even an aston martin DB7? I'm afraid to ask what AMG/M will come up with for the next model cycle.

this is the best production audi in the world

That is what it think becuse the performance says in all. It will fly past any carrera anytime. It will certainly thrash the jaguar s-type R and the BMW M5. The E55 AMG is not even fit to be tried out in a road test if there is any. The only car the audi would have a real challenge is the Holden HSV GTS. It has about 52 horsepower more than the RS6 but that si not the case because you are also going to test for handling, fuel efficiency (which both cars are not quite good at),price and safety. I would still vote the audi and it would guarantee win.
