I've seen some awesome mustangs my friend. Especially with the 5.0. That 302 is pretty much a bored & stroked 289, one of the best hot rod motors ever made. I can honestly say, that against a well tuned 5.0 leter mustang, this thing would probably be pretty damn surprised on the drag strip. But this would most deffinately take it on the track, mostly because it's a prepared race car. My drummer drives an 85 5.0 that's been bored and stroked to 330 (as big as you wanna go or else cylinder walls get too thin) that's been balanced and blue printed, with more tweaks and mods than I can count. He's actually pulling the low 11's on the drag strip with a 0-60 or less than 4.5 seconds (easy), with out NO2. With it he was running in the 10's, but he took it off because of the damage it can do to an engine. With a proper super we'd be pulling even more. Now, if you wanna beat this thing on a track, go buy a Saleen Mustang, the SE-281 is underrated at about 435hp. If you go with the SR you'll take it for sure. With a supercharged 351 this merc wont stand a chance. You see, when you buy a saleen your basically buying a street legal race car. I've also seen several guys in houston (there's an entire underground race culture there) who have turn stock mustang GT's into some serious performance machine's, mustangs that would deffinately give this a good run for it's money, if not beating it. So don't count the pony car's out man, you'd be surprised what a guy/kid in a garage can do with some tools, some parts, and a decent computer. |

I can agree, but, don't diss the 5.0 Pony. I think it would be a good match, if they were both driven by professional racers. |

This is one fast car. Because of this car i had to get the speedvision channel just to see this babe actually race on television. I think this is the best car ever constructed. |

this is an absolutely gorgeous car. take an already beautiful car, with great power, then slam it down, power it up to 470 finely tuned bhp, and imagine the look on the face of the guy on the corner with the 5.0 pony car. oh that would be a site to see. |
