| Probably too good 2B true |
| maddicto 24-11-2003 |
After years of fun with a spider cabrio, I now drive a 166 (3 kids need more room). Quality-wise, the 166 shows that Alfa can build a car that runs 60000 km without any failure. With my Spider, I had my share of electronic flaws, but as with some oter creatures, its sheer beauty made up for it... I can't wait to see this Brera hit production. But Fiat is in such dire straights that I don't think they'll have the guts nor the money to put this beauty into production and compete in this segment. But if they do, let's hope they don't change a thing!! Not the interior, nor the make of engine (GM?? the thought alone...) |

At age 80 I am not sure we need a 2nd car in the family however I may need a new Alfa after seeing this recent design by Giugiero. (If hopefully they are reintroduced into the U.S.) Vernon M. Parrett, M.D. |
| do u really know anything about marketting LocalGod? |
| ALFA 166 17-7-2003 |
"this is not a child attitude about I want it; therefore, it most be build as it is. In real life, people do not care if the item is greater than a designer brand. V6? same tag price as a BMW or a MB? Consumers go for the TAG that is on the product, not for the qualities. i.e the case of the VW Phantom. Who in the world would buy it when they can buy a BMW 7 series at the same price. In my opinion, only freak people how are addict or loyale to the Brand. This is like TIMEX selling a watch at the same tag as a ROLEX. Which would you pick? Ok, maybe you find Rolex to old fashion; therefore. you get the TIMEX.(if this is your personal preferency in chossing vehicles, then happy for you. I'm not trying to be sarcastic to you, if I offend you somehow, my bad). This is why car makers do car shows and prototypes, to see how the market reacts to there new innovations. You know how much leather, chrom, hi-tech, hp and torque the designers like to put-in when it's about car shows. Everyone has hopes and dreams, but how many of dreams do come true. If we have them all, this would be a perfect world with no limit. However, we all know that sky is the limit. when the thing really goes into production, you will see the amount of reduction on the leather, chrom, hi-tech, hp and torque they did in order to reach a larger market segment other then one segment, the ""nuts area only""." |
| nicely done but.... |
| concorde 15-6-2003 |
For about 40 grand it would be a nice car. If they do make it, it will be too expensive. At 400 horsepower, it's not really a supercar. it would simply be unwanted in it's price class. Besides, it looks like a chrysler crossfire that spent a little time in a wind tunnel. Just my 2 cents. Do it better or do it cheaper if you're going to produce it. |
| Build me !!! |
| Mark Alderton 8-3-2003 |
"Everything about the car says ""Build Me"". Just one thing, taking into account it has a 4.2 V8 I think this will be out of reach for most people. I would suggest dropping it to a V6 twin turbo thus setting the price around the same as the M roadster and SLK AMG. What a war !!!!" |
| Build It! (and keep it Italian) |
| LocalGod 22-1-2003 |
If GM decides not to build the Brera, it will only show that they do not have a clue about the market today. If they do build it and it winds up with a GM engine in it - it will show that they understand the market, but not what it takes to play there. This is most stunning Alfa I've seen in two decades. Build it! Sell it! Bask in the profits! Get over the fact that it's far more beautiful than any 'vette ('vettes dream they're Breras when they sleep). |
| no v8 for this beuty |
| FPV_GTHO 17-1-2003 |
this is obviously the best looking alpha in ages, the only bad this about it is the maserrati v8 isnt the first engine preferance. the engineers are favouring a bi-turbo version of gm's new hfv6. although that isnt a real turnoff, this car will fly! |
| Fast, Sexy and Modern! |
| ssilvik 14-1-2003 |
Alfa Romeos have always been sexy and sleek cars and this is no exception! Please PRODUCE it and bring it here!!! |
| Soon to be in my garage? |
| tra1 12-1-2003 |
One of the best looking coupes I've seen in years. Let's hope alfa or gm starts production soon(2003). I'm sure there will some changes from the concept car, which is sad. The only chance we have of buying a brera in North America is to start writing letters to Alfa Romeo demanding a beautiful refined coupe A.S.A.P!! |
| Beautiful, but... |
| Rataman 6-1-2003 |
Undoubtely, Italians are the masters of automotive styling, but what about reliability. Quite often, better yet, always we hear complaints about these cars' quality and reliability. Definitely, what the world needs is Italian design with German performance and Japanese quality and reliability. I would never purchase a car lacking in quality, no matter the way it looks. Sorry, but for me, any Alfa is a no go, even though I've been told many times that anyone would look good stranded on a side of a road in a stylish car. |
| Sexiest car alive |
| FJ-Ramirez 6-1-2003 |
Woooow! This is Giugiaros masterpiece. Agressive but beautiful, massive but elegant. An Alfa as an Alfa has to look like! |
| Wonderful!!! |
| Breistul 4-1-2003 |
Finally one of the finest consept cars are going to production. Not a moment too soon. We are hopefully seeing the new dawn for Alfa here. They are brave and this will sell like hotcake with a another interior. Hope also a V - 8 will come so we got a real racer here. This was the nicest surprice a sportscar lover could get. Very nice!!! |
| Welcome back Alfa Romeo, Where have you been all these years |
| Edge 4-1-2003 |
Alfa Romeo has completely awoken, this is the biggest step it has taken to redeam itself as an exotic italian car manufaturer, the brera is a perfect example that alfa is an italian dream come true. alfa romeo, a brand once haunted by decades of producing worthless machines they called cars, but lately they've realized that all it took was great design and superb engineering to turn themselves a full 180 degrees to the degree that they could once again master car design and engineering and make drop-dead irrisistable automobiles that they were once known for, WELCOME BACK ALFA ROMEO, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THESE YEAR? |
| Youth Spirit, Alfa Romeo Brera |
| ragaie_jr 2-1-2003 |
This car...!!!!What can i say about?!!!!It looks perfect, acts smoothly like a small bird that really want to fly too high and too far wih max. speed that it can. It's really seems to me a beautiful car for the Youth Spirit.Of course, people who owns it feel what i really say about. |
| 2 Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica di Automobili |
| Andonis 2-1-2003 |
You've heard these comments, so don't wait! There's one common language we speek! Production ASAP!!! The sooner, the faster FIAT gets outta trouble. I wonder do You have the balls 4 it? It's like you, the companies are competing with each other who can bring out the ugliest car after a magnificent prototype and after that you keep wining you're loosing market! I bet if ever it comes out, it sure won't look like this. This is phenomenal!!! Like a nice a dream -it's just too good to be true. Proove me the opposite! And one more thing - don't screw the other future Alfas with the Brera's styling cues, let this be unique, otherwise it looses its shine!!!!!! May all be unique, each may be an own personality!!! And create a next model to the GTV and the Spyder too, and let this be the continuation of the Montreal! Since we're talking about unfulfilled desires, why the hell did the Scighera never make it to production? Or the Proteo for that matter? Don't repeat that mistake again! Never forget!!!: before Ferrari came into picture, among the Maserati, it was the Alfa Romeo that led the italian (FIAT) sportscars and the Lancia, but like they say that's another story. |
| Giugiaros' Best Work |
| nis 22-12-2002 |
This is one of the best works from Giorgetto Giugiaro. Very good design and rare car! Should be in production next year! |
| looks like |
| bugattimaster 21-12-2002 |
kinda looks like a smaller type of a bugatti veyron EB 16/4. More expenive to. Does anyone know its torque? |
| if you want to test drive it.............. |
| motorhead 16-12-2002 |
you better have 3.2million on standby!! There is only one brera for driving currently. It is for future owners and motor journalist to test drive. But if anything happens to it like you crashed it or it got stolen or something you would have to pay italdesign 3.2million for the car. I have no idea how much they are selling the brera in mid 2004 but i bet it is going to be a very expensive car and to add to that price, limited numbers(100 I think)are going to be built and italdesign and alfa romeo calims that the next gtv will have styling cues like the brera so lets wait. |
| to be produced around 2005... |
| Outlaw 16-12-2002 |
"These days there was the ""Motor Show di Bologna"" in Italy. In an interview for the TV G.Giugiaro said Alfa is actually going to put in production the Giugiaro designed Brera around 2005 (or was it 2004?). Now since the car as it is right now looks very expensive I guess or rather I fear they're going to make something more than some slight modifications to it (starting with the Lamborghini-look-alike doors), anyway I hope it'll still look good (hopefully rear traction or AWD). Moreover, Giugiaro is now in charge for future Alfas' styling (I've heard him saying that), and this is some good news. I hope they'll give him the chance to make something good. Anyway they also showed some footage of the Brera prototype in action (just fly-bys and so on), and it looked so great ...please God don't let them ruin it!!!""" |
| Performance |
| alfaholic 8-12-2002 |
I would also love to see some performance figures, as I have seen nothing but power output 400+ bhp. |
| Finally a contender |
| alfaholic 8-12-2002 |
Finally Alfa has produced a contender that will un-doubtfully thrash a BMW M3, M5. I can't wait until their out and in production. |
| Absolutely Beautiful |
| vroom vroom 1-12-2002 |
This car is a magnificent piece of art. There should be no question about putting this in production. This car would definitely get them out of the money ditch they're in right now. |
| Alfa Romeo - Brera - Needs Production |
| Cale 29 28-11-2002 |
"I don't know what Alfa Romeo is doing about waiting to put the Alfa Romeo Brera in production. I mean for a company that needs to add some ""spice"" to their collection they sure are letting some of the most perfect concepts slip-away and not ever putting one in production. I mean a Dodge Viper or Chevrolet Corvette Z06 doesn't have anything on this. Seriously my gosh a Sequential Shifter on this baby 400+ HP. If Alfa Romeo had any sense sometimes they would put the Alfa Romeo Brera into production.""" |
| Saving Grace?? |
| Maximillian 29-10-2002 |
Appearantly the Alfa owner (FIAT Spa) is in huge financial trouble. I believe this car might be one of the pieces of the puzzle we need to solve to save FIAT Spa and thus Alfa Romeo, from being conrolled completely by the General. Don't waist money on further development, just order the machines and start building it. Thus improving the image of Alfa Romeo and the FIAT organisation. Probably people that can't afford this car will by a cheaper Alfa or FIAT because of the association with the Brera. Oh.. And the name is just perfect as well |
| prototype, why not production? |
| Outlaw 15-9-2002 |
I'm so sick of Alfa policiy about what to put in producion. During the years I've seen so many perfect Alfas stay just a prototype, and horrible junk going into production (155, 145, 146, 166, spyder to name the most recent ones). I remember the Proto a AWD 4SW foldable hard top of early 90's, it was going to be a succesfull car ...and they just picked the AWD and put it in the already damn old Alfa 33. I HATE THEM!!! |
| breistul100............... |
| motorhead 14-9-2002 |
The brera is going to go into production as the number of people that want to buy that car is quite a lot so most likely it is going into production. |
| the best alfa in the world!!! |
| motorhead 12-9-2002 |
It is also the nicest alfa ever. This car looks like a 147 on steroids. the interior which i saw in a magazine is absolutely beautiful. I really think Maserati and Alfa Romeo should merge. They would rule italian motoring industry. Excellent!! |
| Not for production??? |
| breistul100 3-8-2002 |
The most elegant show car for years are not going for production so people can enjoy it, think this would sell like hot cake if it did come out. Why GM are you doing this to consumers. Terrible. My advice, get it onthe road faster than fire, would help Alfa Romeo rebuild faster. |
| Yup! |
| Faz|e3 3-8-2002 |
Firstly, yes. This is the nicest car or one of the nicest cars I've seen in my life. Beautiful. Fantastic. Brilliant. It's just great. Unbelieavable. I'm running out of superlatives. Help me. |
