 Beautiful but underpowered

The 912 actually does 0-100 in 11.6, not 13. However, I have still found that my 912 is disappointingly underpowered. This is duly compensated for by its head-turning engine note and aesthetics... It also arguably handles better than the early-model 911s due to improved weight distribution (lighter engine further forward in rear). It is difficult to find a more attractive entry-level (depending on your perspective) sports car than the 912, although prices are rising as they are developing quite a cult following.
 could have been a 911

Funny to read motorhead's comment. The 912 is nothing more than the original 911 fitted with the 4 cylinder engine from the 356. It was produced because for many porsche drivers the 911 was too expensive. I would agree with mh that the original shape of the 911, although still recognisable in the 996 has the cleanest lines of all Porsches, before the race for horsepower and corresponding road holding transferred it into a blown-up caricature.

I was on my way for dinner one night with my family and a friend and somethkng caught my eyes! I knew it was a porsche because of it's turtle like shape so the first thing that came to my mind was that it was a 1963 911 but, no it was a 912!!! That was the first time i saw a 912 and my god, it was beautiful!! I was silver and had a black interior! These kind of porsches are so rare in singapore so when you see one you are considerd very lucky(to a car person) If i had a chance to buy a classic car(i am only 13)it would be this and nothing else!!!
