I drove this one today. Just for about 15 kilometers. But on the same day that i drove the BMW 760i, i was overwelmed by this great Mercedes.What most attracted me was ABC. This system keeps the Mercedes steady at all time. Breaking at high speeds, changing traffic-lanes at 200+ km/h.No strange reaction of the car. No need to grab the steering wheel a bit tighter. And it's just that reaction that made me disappointed about the BMW 760i. |

surprised? So was I. As if the S55 and the S600 arent enough to melt the tarmac, benz is coming out with the S62AMG... how powerful? sit down and hold onto something! 600+ hp. yes! The latest issue of automobile magazine compares the S600 and the 760iL, and for the first time in history is a benz able to knock the BMW senceless. 0-60 4.6 compared to 5.4, 200 lbs lighter and 140lbft more of torque. BMW always had an upper edge as far as hp was concerned, but benz was always notorious with its torque figures. Now it kills the competition from Bavaria. Will BMW answer back with an M? the first of its kind for a 7? The italians had better get back to their drawing boards! |

I'm a big fan of the S class already, and after owning an S500 for a year, this is beginning to look very appealing. The idea of the S55 AMG featuring the supercharged V8 engine introduced in the SL55 AMG was a wise move, and although the AMG badge is maybe more suited to a coupe or a sleek 2 door sports car, the S55 AMG looks very nice so far! Keep up the good work Mercedes! |
