I couldn't wait for the first one to be seen on the road. Than I saw one and was amazed. So I couldn't wait for driving one and was disillusioned when I had the opportunity to do so. The gaps while shifting are much too long and the engine has not enough power to shift back and pull the hammer or use it as a break assist. It's set up is really nice but could be a little bit tighter. And you don't see anything if you sit in it. Really scary!!! But the special edition with V6 bi-turbo must be very interesting, though it will never be produced (about 50.000! no one would pay it!). |

This car is jus perfect for city dewellers like me (if any one lives or has driven in central london they would know wot im talkin about),busy citys have the usual problems of traffic jams ,lack of parking spaces etc,i was a fan of the original smart car thought it was an ideal solution to londons traffic woes, but i always wished it had more power and was a tad more sporty.....well it seems that mercedes hav read my mind!! i love the styling ( ok its not to every ones taste), but in black with its flared wheel arches and vertically placed head lights it kinda looks like a mini TVR tuscan!!..(well maybe not at close range but if u stand far way enough.....lol). And to be honest it makes a welcome relief from all the power mad talk of supercars, dont get me wrong lambos, porches and ferarri's do get me horney, but currently i dont hav much chance of ownin one (let alone drivin em!!)at least this is more attainable and who says you cant have fun with ne thing less then 200bhp!! besides british B-roads are great equalizers, the only roads in the world where a small car can humble a supecar!! |
| Hmmmm... not like the old one! |

This does not look even like a smart car! What were the designers thinking??? It is well... looking like the ugly duckling! the Brabus edition is even better than this! But... of course... the roadster, city and crossblade are MUCH MUCH better! |

When I first saw Smart Roadster 2000 in the magazine, I kept on dreaming that something like that would be mass-produced. And here it comes. Great! PS> Did anyone think about what if to put Yamaha R1 engine on it? (1.0L, 150hp @ 10,000rpm)That would make this roadster fly like a jet! |

WOW! I can't wait to see Michael J. Fox quitting that old DeLorean to start travelling through time with this new smart! Afterall, I was already tired of that matchbox look-alike of all the other Smart models... |

I like the different styling that the Smart has and its sports car suspension. Now if there could be a higher horsepower model, that would be ideal. But its Smart's call and if they dont want to bring out more sportiness and more fun for the customers then so be it. But i like the idea of Smart Roadster-Coupe. I just hope that it comes inexpensively and to America which i highly doubt. |
