 the way to go

This new diesel engine has been developed by Fiat, now somehow closely interlinked with Opel because of their GM connection. Fiat was the first to introduce the Common Rail diesel technology, which is now common to all modern diesel engines, with a notable exception being the VAG pump-jet engines, which are generally more powerful but lack refinement in terms of engine comfort and noise. The engine now presented is called JTEC and uses a.o. still higher injection pressure. Just look at the power figures now obtained by Opel from this very small engine and look furthermore at the amazing mileage. Hopefully the gazguzzling society at the western side of the Atlantic may wake up one day, and accept that this is the way to go in a world that will ultimately face a steep decline in oil-based fuels.
