heh, just got mine, added to my collection of *counts* 12 cars! Seriously, this thing has an awesome design, and the new lights are much better than those goggle ones on the '02. The styling is simply fabulous. You guys at Subaru have done great on this thing. Handles great and gives a nice ride. I've yet to take mine off-road though....(and wreck the paint...)

Guys and Gals, I really like the Sube WRX, but after a near death experience in one of them due to the miserable performance on dirt roads, I must say that my new car, a turbo-charged Audi S6 4.2 '96 is just much faster and safer. You can really notice that the guys at Audi invented the quattro, a.k.a 4 wheel drive in person cars. It is just nice to see the wrx's in the back mirror with their faces pale at classic traffic lights races or on a winding road... Nothing will ever replace displacement and the sound of a german V8...Put a KKK on it, and you will have lots of fun, especially if this is connected to a Audi Tiptronic transmission taken out of a S8...much fun, and more luxury....learn from the germans in south america... tough luck though that the Skyline GTR 34 is so hard to find in Chile... Anyway, the sube WRX and the EVO are nice and fast city cars, but going at 170 mph, I rather be sitting in my S6... Cheers For all the not-believvers in german 4wd, check out any Audi Sport Quattro...thats a real cornering beast...

Okay, this is really cool and I really want one. I think this car has a great spoiler, and it has a really cool interior. Not to mention is rarely driven, which is cool considering I don't like seeing too many of the same car. I was SHOCKED! to even see one driving by. Okay so I was in a really old legend at the time, but I bet that the STi isn't as quite or as smooth as a legend, but a lot faster though.

well here in US you can get the 300hp STi PPP and 0-60 in 4.7, which is what i have, and you really cant say its not fast. yes there are cars faster, but how many faster cars cost $30000 or less? evo? costs almost the same but slower... dont know but if you ask me, the impreza is a lot of go for the dough. and its a 4-door sedan where you can fit people and things. 4wd - good in snow and ice and everywhere else

i dont know whats going on over there but over hear the car doesnt have to look good for a girl to like it. she will go for a guy with a fast car that kills everything else on the road. skylines and wrx sti's are your best chances of piking up (besides a lambo or bmw)
 Natural Aspiration.....................................

"Hey, dont get me wrong, I love the new WRX sti. Even luckier for me, in the Caribbean, we get the ""slightly more powerful"" Sti, straight off of Japan - topping off at 280+ hp. - it can easily be tuned to reach 300+hp. However, this is just a 2.0 engine, with heavy turbocharging. The Same car with a 3.0 V6 may be haevier, but it would have a longer lasting, and better performing engine. Natural aspiration gives more flexible performance, especially on winding roads, where power is abundant even on lower revs, unlike a turbo, which suffers form a bit of ""turbo-lag"". At any rate though, I am sure that the 6-speed 'box in the WRX makes up for any ""losses"" with its close-ratio setup."

"jus wot hav u got against subaru?? ive read most of the comments u have made against this car and the EVO and they are jus plain anti-japanese, either ur jus a racist lil twat who still has a grudge against the japanese for peal harbour , or ur too wound up in nationalistic pride. Either way ur comments are are gettin silly before u had a valid point, but now it seems u gotta vendetta against all things japanese. And wots this crap about reptilian personification?? american cars also hav ""reptilan personification"" i suppose u think the the viper doesnt in any way look reptilian?... ok fair enuff the EVO and the sub aint babe magnets , but ur beloved SRT-4 aint exactly a beauty queen either, infact it looks more reptilian then the impreza (SRT-4 looks like a squashed frog!!) The EVO and the Sub are drivers cars , peeps buy them for the perfomance not for the looks. And i dont need to talk about the Subarus performance that speaks for it self The subaru has already established it self as a champion with a record of 34 WRC victories since it was introduced in 1993, compared to SRT-4 wins of about...hmmm zero! Until ur SRT beats the jap cars at their own game (rallying) no one is gonna take it seriously"

"who the hell are u people to say tht an upgraded dodge NEON will beat a top of the line WRX.. WHAT ARE U SOMKING? .. and all of you critics, who think they know what they are talking about, get a grip, someone can drop an upgraded turbo in that, and ur faster than corvettes, and Trans ams, for a fraction of the price, the WRX is NOT in the league with Hondas and RSX's, no the WRX will shit on anything ""economy"" including the weak ass Dodge SRT-4. stop floating around in space and come down to earth."
SRT-4 people, how did you get so smart?

Great, I have heard it from RX7club.com people and many others that once you have an SRT-4 you believe it is the best car in the world and you are so smart for buying it. Well, in case you did not know the car is not designed for the quarter mile. Sorry to burst your bubble but like someone mentioned earlier EVO and Subarus are meant for cornering. That is why it is an all wheel drive. People do not buy it for the AWD take off. Yes, its funny that Subaru and Mitsubishi specifically fudge the numbers on their all wheel drive cars, coincidence? No! There is a difference between power at the crank and power at the wheels. yes a stock US WRX (not STi) is 227 hp at the crank, at the wheels it is only about 180hp. This is normal for any car to have less power at the wheels. And the smart one who bought a cheap american car (that will utilize warranty) for such a low price for power think about this. I can go buy a Honda, lightest car out there for $1000 and invest $10,000 into it. Now I have spent half the price and have beat your neon.
Admittedly, the WRX Sti is not your best CHICK MAGNET

I'll have to admit the Sube WRX in any form is not you best bet when it comes to getting that prized attention from the opposite sex, since it was recently polled as one of the most hideous vehicles of the past couple years-must be that Reptilean Virus Personification that tends to flow in the veins of Oriental designers. Since you can't use your car in this pursuit, you've got to rely on personal looks, but that will get you only so far, then ultimately-intelligence & this may be a real issue for some of you who claim to be auto street savy in addition to the related technical/marketing aspects involved. If you think your Sube WRX St... whatever is the pinnacle around curves & straights, then try to hang with the intelligent soul in the Neon SRT-4-front drive & all. You're NOT GOING TO GET TO 60 IN LESS THAN 5 SEC in the Sube or Mitsu simply because the stated hp & torque values by the mfg of the vehicle-WRX & EV0, are exaggerated, the vehicle's mass is too great & you've got too much drive-line inertia/frictional losses. Newton's Laws of Motion have not be altered & Women Really love intelligence, wit & honesty-if you've got any.(MLH-the answer man)

"It has long been accepted that the WRX is idiot proof. That is its inherent tractability makes it easy for boneheads to drive reasonably well. It is fast, why wouldnt it be with all that output in such a small car. Unfortunately it is the ultimate posers car. Just look at all the wankers that drive around ""laying"" in the drivers seat looking cool. It is pure function over form though. It is not an attractive design as far as beauty goes. That is not to say I havent seen some that look purposeful, but I respect them more for what they are capable of than the total package. A 200SX on the other hand combines power and the sleek lines of a sports car. Packaged in a rear wheel drive chassis to see if the owner really can drive. Alas it is no more."
this car is for driving to the limit, not posing

I read a few of your comments, and i dont think this car is for getting hot girls, its all about the way this car goes round corners. I have a sti, and its built to go as fast as you can round the roads, it handles like crazy, and people in 'the know' what you are driving, so they race u at every lights, its a good car to thrash around. if i want to nail a hot girl i use my looks not an american heap of car crap that cant drive round corners.

WOOGIE-among others who have wasted big money on the Sube WRX(Wild Ricesled Expo), you can watch the Mitsu Zero(maybe even a Hyundai Tiburon),in your rear view, but out your front windshield will be the guy in the Dodge Neon SRT4 with a few extra thousand bucks in his wallet. With all that extra cash, he can purchase those hot Mopar performance upgrades & nail a hotter young gal, and then you won't even be able to read his tag number! MLH-engr

I have money down for a 2004 WRX Sti, so when I give it a test drive I will send in the results. For those Mitch's, Honda's & Toyota's see you in the rearview mirror!

Canada gets the WRX STi, a 2.5 liter with 300hp and 300 lb/ft. So which is Better? or does the one you speak of even exist?
