"alright bigv8man, I absolutely did NOT say that Holden were getting Ford engines in their cars. I said their new engine (redesigned) is coming CLOSER to the design of the Ford's v8. The major changes are bringing them up to the specifications of the Ford engines (e.g. length of conrod, spacing of the exhaust outlets, and more). I never said they were running Ford engines, and surely you don't think I'm so dumb I don't know that. By the way, looks like I made a good prediction about today's race. Told ya Lowndes would win; hehe :)."

...what are u on about bigv8man? although holden had to start using the double wishbone suspension that ford did last year, ford has to use the trailing arm rear suspension that holden did last year. maybe you should do your research before making your comments.
kick holdens what are you on?

hey i notice that you're trying to tell us all that the VY's are using the falcon's front suspension, it doesnt get a lot further from the truth than this. see how in the VY's holden has switched from the old suspension setup to wishbones, from what i gather falcons already had wishbones before the VY came along, however this does not mean that it is the falcons suspension that the VY is using. many race cars and road cars alike all around the world use wishbones and you cannot just say that because ford had them first, it makes it theirs, dont be stupid. holden is not using any of ford's parts. wishbones do not belong to ford, ford is just one of many car companies that manufacture them and use them in their cars. also i see your comment about holden trying to make their engine the same as ford's. the reason you say this is because you have seen that the displacement (cubic capacity) of the engines are the same, the valvetrain is the of the same type (ohv, 2 valve per cylinder), and that the block is cast iron. well if you do some minor research you might also find that in order for the car to compete in the v8 supercars, it must meet the above specifications. just because the specs in ford and holden's racing engines look the same does not mean that holden is using ford's engines. they are entirely different engines, made by entirely different companies. the only reason they share many specifications is due to the fact that they would not be allowed to race if they did not meet those requirements.
 watch Lowndes!

Watch Lowndes this weekend! He's got a good chance of winning, depending on whether or not things go his way. He belted along last race, driving the 3rd fastest car on the track! Everyone at Holden had better watch out for him this weekend, coz I think he may be a little to fast for them! Go Lowndes! Go FORD!

Ford did not invent double wishbone front suspension. The Holden teams actually have to now come to grips with the different set up which will be a slight disadvantage for a while. Im not sure what you mean about the Holden motor being closer to the Ford. From what I understand there were very few changes to last years set up. In any case AVESCO makes the rule so that both cars are as close as they can be. It is formula racing.
 more aerodynamic

I read that the BA is more aerodynamic than the AU, which already was more aerodynamic than the VY. Interesting that Holden talked so much about the drag-coefficient of the 'brand-new' VY, which still didn't match the AU, and then the BA went and improved on that still! Also interesting that Holden V8 supercars are switching mainly to Ford components, and not the other way around. Their new engine is also coming closer to Ford's design. Is Ford's suspension and engine better than Holden's or something?
 differences

Im not sure the BA is more aerodynamic than the AU. The front of the AU, for all its vices, looks a lot smaller and rounder than the BA. It would be interesting to see actual figures. The VY in production form is more aerodynamic than the VX but I dont know whether that will translate to a difference in race form.
 Differences in BA over AU

There ARE a few differences between UA and BA falcon racecars, most noticable is the overall shape is MUCH more aerodynamic, with a higher bootlid, and a much larger rear wing, you will also notice that the front splitter is a lot longer, Check out www.fpv.com.au for the latest pics of fords official entry. Another thing, the VY commodore is running the Falcon front suspension, so that will make it a little more difficult for them
 same but different

As the new BA V8 Supercar will be running virtually the same 5lt V8 from last year, just as Holden will be running their 5lt V8, the difference/improvement/advantage you are hoping for will mostly come from ongoing developement. The body of the BA Falcon is the same as the AU. The only differences, like the VY Commodore, are to the front and rear plastic. So while the BA will definitely look better, there is no technical basis on which to expect any radical improvement.
 Not bad!

This car looks great, and hopefully goes just as great as it looks. Holdens have won too many races last year, so hopefully this year issues have been cleared up between Ford and Holden in order that the race wins are more evenly shared, making the competition TOUGHER!!!

"No company in GB makes the Falcon, it's an Aussie car. Doesn't look like it will be exported either to the states, not in a hurry anyway...especially the supercar, this is specifically designed for race purposes only, the Ford FPV GT would be the closest thing, but not that close ;) """

Hey does anyone kno if Ford is going to export Falcons to the US and what company in GB is making the falcon?

Don't get me wrong, I really like the BA Falcon (it beats any VY), but don't take anything away from Ford in USA. They pioneered the automobile we know today, and have a long history of successful cars. Ford Australia only have 1 car (plus Mazdas and US/Euro Fords)! And while the Falcon may clearly be better than the Taurus, the Taurus isn't THAT bad! Just remember this before you shoot off at Ford USA. It's a pity that no one here drives the Mustang or the Cougar. PS: I am Australian.
 Ba will export!!!!!

 BA for export
FPV_GTHO

ford australia has denied any plans for export of the BA, but they've done several things that could get them exported, for instance, moving the fuel tank forward of the rear differential, having the engones pass euro 2 emissions test or sumtin like that and throughout the BA's development, ford have tried to secretly do cold weather testing in places like scandinavia, where a picture of the BA was taken. the car was masked up with black tape and strangely had increased suspension, possibly a test car for E265

It's just too beautiful to be a Ford. Greetings for all the designers.

Look at the BA Falcon! It's hard to believe that Ford Australia's decision to stick with the Australianised Ford Falcon and rear wheel drive is what gave birth to this here fire-breathing monster - and it has 4-doors! Americans must now be sad that Ford USA opted for the Taurus/Sable. The $64,000 question is whether Ford Australia will be making any left hand drive versions of this car for the USA market.
