Despite all the has been said about the look of the new 7 series, one thing still remains. On road it is more noticeable then an S class, and performance wise it trounces the XJR.

"On Tuesday 25 March i drove this car for about one hour, driving 75 kilometers(46 miles). In Germany on the great Autobahn A31 near Bottrop, Essen i reached a limited 260 km/h(160 mph) on the clock. But when i had to break at that speed, and i mean breaking hard; from 260 km/h back to 140 km/h or so in just a few seconds; a strange thing occured. I had to grab the steering wheel real tight, otherwise the car would roll over sideways. It was almost uncontrollable. This event had occured to me before in other great powered cars with a big engine in the front ( SL73 AMG, Brabus E650, C55 AMG). Nowadays the great powered Mercedes S and CL-cars have ABC. And it is just this control-unit that prevents the car doing strange movements at hard braking from high speeds.Therefor i think Mercedes takes over the place from BMW as the maker of great sportsedans."

"(Quote: I'd take a weird looking 7 series Bimmer over a S500 Benz that's so unoriginal it can't be told appart from an ""E"" or ""C"" class from more than 20 feet away! End quote) The next 5 and 3 series will be getting similar designs, it's the way BMW/Merc/Audi have always worked; update one model, next one follows a few years after, next a few years after that. Take for example the e46/e39/e38 group, from memory the 7 series (e38) update came first in the early 90's, then the five series (e39) middle 90's, then the 3 series (e46) late 90's."

"Futuristic? YES. Elegant? NO. Good enough to wear the ""Ultimate Driving Machine"" badge? I think so. I'd take a weird looking 7 series Bimmer over a S500 Benz that's so unoriginal it can't be told appart from an ""E"" or ""C"" class from more than 20 feet away!"

Old 7 series was the best seling V12 in the world. This one is going to break that record. it will be the new old best selling V12. I will use the same comment as i used for RR Phantom:We are in the 21st century. Things are changing. So are the cars. BMW came up with something new. So what if now 3, 5and 7 series don't look alike. Did you maybe see new Mercedes models from the front. No difference between cheep low quality C series and what should be the luxurious S or CL series. This BMW only tells you that he is the best in its class. And no other car can be compared to it. The luxury and elegance that you can get with this car goes with an extreemly good V12 6.0 liter 445 hp engine. THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN THE BEST. Just a reminder to Mercedes, Audi and other car companies: DON'T HUNT WHAT YOU CAN'T KILL.

While the new E65 chassis is ugly to some, those who accept it probably just realize that you can't go forever without changing something to keep it alive. BMW decided to make drastic changes to their prestigous range in order to help bring in the next generations of BMW, such as 1's, 3's, 5's and 6's. In my mind, the design might need revision, but as far as BMW making some real changes, I am 100% for their decision to move on into the future. This car demonstrates BMW's ability more than anything else, and I would most certainly pay for a 7 if I was in the market for luxury, this being a strictly luxury car. About this car needing to be revised, I take that back, it's perfect, the opinions of a few false enthusiasts should'nt affect those of a true one.

"Although I'm an owner of an BMW 5-Series and I love my car, this car despite the gizmos and a diamond engine, sucks from the design side. I am still wondering how BMW, a company that was well known for making car serious and sporty cars with finesse for demanding drivers is producig this grob designed car.I just read and the most recent test in the german Auto Motor und Sport and it lost from the Merc S600.If I had the money I would go straight to buy a Bentley Arnage T or a Silver Serpah. The last breed of the Crewe-constructed cars gave everyboby a lesson about what is a luxury car.The quality of wood trims and the leather in the interior makes the german opponents look like middle-class car or taxis. It is a shame that Rolls is ,courtesy of BMW, ""dead"" by now and we should look more at these ugly cars."

Don't get me wrong because i absolutly love this car and its style and power but i think it is a complete rip off...i have a feeling that this will be bought by only people wanting to waste their worthless money on. In Canada, this car is priced close to $140 000 grand last time i saw...it can be higher! People might say it is worth it, but your better off buying an M5!!! It has the luxury (of some sort compared to this), and it has the performance
