| Too Similar ! |
| 911959 9-2-2003 |
The trend for the past decade or so has been for car manufacturers to design cars with what is particular design theme that is unique to the company so as to immediately make that company's product identifiable as a car from that particular marque. This however in my opinion has led to such similarities within these companies products that it seems as though they produce one car in various sizes and body styles. Mercedes is particularly guilty of this. basically the same headlights and grille can be seen from the C Coupe to the SL 600. The AMG models all share similar air dams. Mercedes is to me right now the best car manufacturer in the world with its SL 55 AMG, S 600 and the soon to come SLR, however a litte more variety would be appreciated. |
| Simply Gorgeous!!! |

Damn!!! Is this car beautiful or what??? One of the best convertibles in Benz's history for sure, not that they had a lack of 'em anyway.Just waiting for the CLK55 AMG version. with the bodykit and the power to match. |
| Something wrong, something wierd |

Even for the V-6 version of this car, making 170 hp, it seems to be that the 0 -60 time might be a little on the coservative side, with 9.2 seconds. And whats this I see? 6 speed manual? since when do roadgoing factory Mercedes-Benz cars use manual gearboxes? |
| Progressive. |

I hate this word. And for good cause ...really. .. German car designers use it alot, you see, all their designs are progressive. The new audi A3 is a progression of the A4 design. This latest iteration of the CLK/C/E/CL/S saga is quite frankly..more of the same. When I first saw the new CLK right infront of me I was impressed. It is a swoopy Foxy coupe. But all that changed when i saw the Still_Beautiful Volvo C-70. I can see now where benz got it wrong and Volvo got it right. The rear end. Metaphorically speaking. if anything, this Decapotated CLK will sell a a good 100, 000 Vehicles or so. BUT if I am in a CLk and a Silver 2.4 T , C-70 pulls next to me, I'll be aggrivated becuase visually the volvo wins hands down. atleast it's not progressive. Now if the all new Mustang pulls next to me, with all its muscular grace and amazing proportions and details, I'll die, progressivly. |
| Yawwnnnnn ...nice, or is it? |

"Frankly I'm getting quite tired of all these MBs they may be well built and elegant but all in all they tend to look almost all the same, something more than what they call family feeling, it's just that going on this way it'll be pretty hard to tell a model from the other. I must say I prefer BMW's attempt to make something new rather than this going around in circles on the same nice but over abused styling cues that MB is performing with every single new car they make. And furthermore, these introduction shots above they don't really look nice to me; I still believe the BMW 3 series coupe and cabrio allthough recently undergone a not-completely-convincing-slight-restyling still have better and more balanced looks than these new CLKs have. I just hope this thing looks better in real." |
| bad news people!!!! |

"This is no good car for its price. All car magazines which have tested this car claim that steering feel is very numb and it does not give you much feedback. Ride is good but can be better. Interior is indeed much better then the old car because when you sit in the old clk you feel as if you are sitting in a normal E-class sedan. All the mags that have tested the new CLK were coupes and all of thwm were either CLK320 or CLK500 and they did no like both of them very much. I have ""played"" with the old clk(my dad's friends car)and the seats are real comfy and they actually grip you quite a lot. if the coupe is that bad just imagine the cabrio!!! For preference i would rather take a E46 325 convertible!!" |
| A style change indeed, but does it still represent the CLK w |

Yes and no really... I am not a big fan of the SL front grille styling, as I find the departure from the original CLK styling to be quite sad. I always loved the look of the older CLK, and this looks a bit too much like a long SL, and not just on the outside, as the interior styling is very similar to the SL, and maybe the drive will be altered to match its quicker cousin as well, but who knows? |
| Beautiful! |

I think this is a wonderful idea...making a smaller version of a CLK Cabriolet..i can bet a high number in sales if it does come out...i am not sure but either way its wicked!! This is what Benz is all about...STYLE |
