why is everyone arguing that the car has a 550hp engine rather then whats listed, when the pictures of the engine bay clearly show an N/A engine?
 Not a regular AMG

I believe the comments on the clk safety car are not quite reliable. according to my information, the clk amg safetycar has a 550bhp supercharged v8. If you ever visit a f1 race, listen and be afraid. In the warm up lap, and in advance of the race, Bernd Maylander speeds by in this awesome AMG. The sound is (really) more impressive than the sound of some f1 cars. That's not the sound of a regular AMG with 367 bhp. The safetycar featured in some carmags, and they also mentioned the 550bhp engine.
Just get a lotus on the case

They souldnt bother with all this corporate bo***cks and just use a lotus esprit sport 300. Cant understand why merc dont use a quicker car anyway. Remember san marino `94-Opel vectra!....
 Yes. It IS naturally aspirated.

Im afraid so. 'Only' about 354 horses, give or take a few - similar in performance terms to BMW's M3. I believe they didnt bolt on a supercharger because it might outperform its flagship cars as it weighs les than either a CL or SL class. Shame...
No actually it is naturally aspirated to the best of my know

Trust me F1 commentators make plenty of mistakes. The car of last year was the CL55 which is a supercharged version of the same engine here but the new CLKs are naturally aspirated engines. LOL, the safety car leads because that is the rule, not because it is faster than every F1 car on the track (LMAO)

The CLK 55 AMG isn't supercharged. It wasn't lucky enough to receive the 0.8 BAR Supercharging unit. However it has 270 kilowatts not 255 kilowatts. The CLK 55 uses the same engine in the W210 E55 AMG with some small modifications.
 Stunning Show

Here in Brazil a few days ago the CLK 55 AMG gave a show at Interlagos didn't it? The track was al wet and there were lots of accidents but its intervention was necessary. We thank FIA to make these interventions with so muck class...
 Uhhhh am i hearing things

I believe the info is wrong here, the car has a supercharged 5.5L engine producing somewhere in the vicinity of 490+ bhp, heard it at the race on Sunday by the commentators. I might be wrong but i doesn't see to me like a 360 horse car should be leading some with 3 times the power. Knowing how mercs are a bit heavy and also the auto tranyy doesnt do them to well. check the stats once again plz.
Is a Formula 1 beautiful than the new Safety car???

I saw the CLK55 AMG aside all the Formula 1 cars...and I realised that it was more more beautiful that the F1 cars...and that says a lot when in the track exist two of the greatest and more beautiful cars in world (McLaren Mercedes of Kimi Raikkonen and David Coulthard...) If I am so crazy about the CLK55 AMG what can happen to me when the SLR will become the new F1 Safety Car???
