One of the two non raced cars made from spare parts was originally to be used as a display for a race themed restaurant in Miami. The team called it the "salad car." The unique tail was to meet the conditions of an inward swoop for aerodyanamics and to match with the wing per regulations. Really adds to the beauty of one of the greatest looking cars. For much greater detail on the XJR-5 and XJR-7 reference the books Prototypes by David Bull Publishing or GTP Racing Cars by MBI |

A big salute to Don Miles, who presented his fabulous Jaguar XJR-5 i Copenhagen. I especially enjoyed the spectackle and the thrill of Jaguar history. Thank You very much. The Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix is a great event and a lot of famous racing cars participate in the race. Fine drivers as Tom Christensen, Jacky Ixck, Jan Magnussen, His Royal Highness Prince Joachim and many more are present. Don, I hope the damage to the car is not terminal, I was in Spa as well (merely as a spectator)and it indeed is a beautiful car, would be shame not to see it return to the racetrack. |

The pics are of my car as it raced in May at Spa where it went very well collecting a 1st and a 2nd in class. She was a real beauty but has just suffered a 100mph head on at Silverstone. Guess I wont scream in my helmet as I do Monza's 'Curva Grandee' flat out this year now. Regards Don |
