| Why drive a Bristol? |
| Bo Alm 31-8-2003 |
"I have seen the new Bristol Fighter. Established technology (no expensive frontline development costs). Cheap, light, but powerful engine (with a serious and successful racing record - it is a Viper engine at heart!). Splendid interior. Probably very efficient aerodynamics (aerospace engineers). But, most of all: I would like to drive this kind of supercar without everyone turning their heads. I would like to feel that I alone know the bestiality of this beast (aside from one or two ""show them all"" against Persches or Ferraris). I wish I could afford that kind of life!" |
| I would buy this car |

If I had a billion dolars and don't know what to do with it. The price of an Aston DB7 for this ? They almost succesfully made me laugh...almost.. |

personally ive never seen the appeal of this car,i saw one last month, it was being driven by some old geezer, (who didnt look too happy), he drove it passed my uni, he must have at been doing only 25 mph, chugging along in a car that looked horribly outdated, the 1950s styling looked terrible, looks aside im sure its good to drive but the old bloke behind the wheel didnt seem to be enjoyin this car. Why the hell would anyone wanna car like this?, lookin at the ole codger made me feel depressed, he seemed to typify the type of people this car woulds appeal to...eccentric old farts with too much money to spend, for the same price range u could buy an aston martin DB7. As the car stopped at the traffic lights i got a better chance to have a seeky peek inside...the only thing i liked was the seats , full padded luxurious leather, the only saving grace. I hear bristol are gonna come up with a 200mph super car called the fighter, until then bristol fans will have to make due with this codger-mobile |

This car is a bot of an oddball. Designed by former racing driver (in the forties and fifites) Tony Crook it appears to be a fantastic drivng machine. Apart from its very conservative, but not unattractive appearence its major set back is that it is only available in right hand drive configuration limiting its selling area. Servicing is mostly carried out by the factory and the factory appears to be buying back second hand cars. (This I am not sure about but the link between the car and the factory is very strong). Concerning the gas tank: is the British continental traveller allowed to take the car through the Eurotunnel? Normally LPG cars are banned. Well, I suppose the easy going Bristol driver would not mind taking the ferry. |
