I am the proud owner of a 1964 cloud 3 royal blue in colour, this car is my pride and joy, this lovely lady has had two famous owner, Lord Louie Mountbattern and richard o'Brien creator of the Rocky horror show, and it now resides in new Zealand,I feel that the cloud 3 is the most atractive marque out of all the styles from the late 50s onwards and still a magic car to drive
Silver Cloud III Observations & Corrections

"The standard Silver Cloud III saloon was NOT designed by Muliner. It was designed by John Blatchley, chief designner for Rolls Royce in the 50's through 60's. He also designed the Silver Shadow and the Corniche. he is retired and still with us. There were 2565 standard Silver Cloud III saloons built, and 254 long wheelbase cars. I have owned both a Silver Cloud III LWB by Mulliner and an S1 Bentley Continental by Park Ward. My S1 Continental is one of only 14 like it in lhd. John Blatchley designed it as well. The six cylinder engine in the SC I & S1 motor cars was and still is one of the best ""sixes"" ever built. Mulliner was a coachmaker, one of several, who would take orders through the dealers for a Silver Cloud, or ""S"" series Bentley chassis and they provided custom bodies for those customers seeking an even more exclusive body. The horsepower you have quoted is speculation. The actual horsepower of the motor cars by Rolls-Royce of that era were never quoted by the factory. When asked, they stated that ""it was adequate"". You are right, the end of the Silver Clouids was the end of the very traditional and superb Motor Cars from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The current VW & BMW products, with German engines, are sad imitations."
