The Ford Falcon XR6T is Australia's best performance bargain, except perhaps for Holden's no-frills SV8 model. However, the SV8 can't match the aftermarket appeal of the XR6T. A few thousand well-spent dollars can turn this car into a giant killer. The main differences between this car and FPV's F6 Typhoon are the meaner looks and strengthened engine internals. |

The best value Aussie-made car on the market today is the XR6 Turbo. As fast as a V8 Commodore SS but $6000AUD cheaper, and easier to live with day-to-day, it is the most desirable Ford you can buy. The soon to be released FPV F6 Typhoon (based on the XR6T) will be packing 270kW and 550Nm(!) and for $54,000AUD it will be a cheaper, faster, and better daily driver than the HSV Clubsport (285kW, 500Nm, $60,000AUD). Looking to be a Blue Oval overtaking Down Under. |
