chill people!! this whole tuscan Vs 360 debate is getting outta hand ,but wot pisses me off is that most of the tits who commented havent even driven either car!!!! ive had the pleasure of havin driven both cars (briefly though lol), firstly they are both great cars , and which is better depends on your tastes and wot you desire from a car, in terms of looks its a draw, you wont be disapointed with either car both are eye catchin and beautifull ,the tuscan has outta space hyper car styling, the ferrari aches of passion and beauty, both stand out from the crowd, as for the interior i prefer the tuscans its jus sooo different from anything else, the ferraris black leather is sleek and sexy but jus hav the same effect as a TVR, both cars hav a fantastic sound track!!!!! the ferrari's is like an opera, its the motoring equivalent of luciano pavarotti, the tuscans was more primal at low revs it was like the rumble of thunder in the distance ,as i pushed my foot down, it sounded like a lions roar! both float my boat!! its a tough call but for me the TVR wins it! if you wanna scare children and OAPs as well as other motorists this is the weapon of choice, as for the driving expericance i think supercharged really hit the nail on the head when describing a TVR!! its a experiance you cant really understand unless you drive it for your self(capone and carfonium you guys clearly havent driven one!!),to be honest the tuscan was more difficult to drive, it took me a while to come to terms with the lack of hydrolics!! but once you do its a blast! and it feels weird drivin ne thin else afterwards, the ferrari is more easier to drive, (although im ashamed to admit it, i did manage to stall it a few times!!) but its easier to get trigger happy with the pedals, at least with the TVRs long travel accelerater u get a type of mechanical traction control with the ferrari you hav to pick your moments carefully and to be honest it would be an fair for me to say which is better to drive because they are jus so different from each other as i sed before its all a matter of wot you prefer, if they were ladies the ferrari would be catherine zeta jones ,and the TVR would be angelina jolie!! ......woteva eva ur preferance you wouldnt mind shagging either! and this is the case with the Tuscan and 360, if ur a true petrolhead you would gladly drive and enjoy both. |

i dont think you know the philosophy behind TVRs, they are supposed to have no electronic driver aids whatsoever!!! As peter wheeler once sed when you drive a TVR you take your life into your own hands!!,TVRs offer some of the most purest form of driving on the planet, unadulterated feed back no ABS, PAS, ESP,etc to take away the thrill of the drive, people who want ESP,ABC and a completely uninvolving smooth and safe ride usually drive an merc E-class, TVRs are for those who are more daring and like an uncensored, no holds barred drive, most of the comments about TVRs come from those peeps who have never driven a TVR!!( if they did drive one they wouldn't have made such negative comments),ive not had the pleasure of drivin a Tuscan but i have driven its older sibling the chimera, and lemme tell you it was like waking up and smellin the coffee!!!, a pure rush of adrenaline, it was like nothin i'd eva driven before!! scarey yet strangly satisfifying,it felt so alive! i felt like i was a part of the car ,neva had i felt so connected to the road!!, with a TVR you get a tru measure of your driving abilites! you realize how good( or bad!) you really are! im sure if the late signor enzo ferrari had driven one he'd also hav a huge smile on his face!! As to comparisions with a ferrari, i think its fair to compare the two they are both high performance low volume specilalist sports cars, jus cos TVR doesnt hav any electronic drivin aids and uses cheaper materials doesnt mean its not worthy of a comparision, so wot if it uses fibreglass! after all TVR is a small company it doesnt hav the same financial backin as ferrari, and besides lots of other british sports car manufacuters use it!! lotus also uses it yet that doesnt mean the exige is crap now does it!? you think jus cos a ferrari is more expensive its more better?! ive already explained as to why a TVR doesnt have any driving aids, your right they completely unforgiving to drive but thats why we like them!! |

"Just so ya know man. You can call an American a Yank and there are a lot that wont get a offended. But I would highly, HIGHLY, recomend that you obstain from trying that in Texas or to a Texan. If there's one any true texan will take offence too, it's being called a yank or yankee. I know it's not about a cars and I apologize, but I figured that's something u might wanna know; cause trust me, it's better than learning the hard way. As to the guy who posted after you. I've driven 350 horses with out any computer aids. Granted it was in a HIGHLY modified '84 Mustang 5.0 (he's pulling around 400plus actually). And I can say with all honesty and confidence, that it's fun as hell. I had a better ride in that car than I have with some chicks. While there are deffinately advantages to electonic crap (god know's they've saved my ass), ESPECIALLY abs; there's something to be said for a balls to the wall no computer machine. I guess that it tests the skills of the driver a little more. It requires you to be a higher calibur than most, to pay more attention, to be more alert, to think on your feet, and to know your car. It kind of brings things back to the bare bones performance that seams to remind so many (me included) of days when you either knew your cars (I mean the physical act of working on them) or knew how to drive them to be a car guy. When it took more than a big wallet to drive fast; it took big balls, and lots of skill. Ferrari hasn't lost that edge, and they are still the car I one day hope to own (any model, I don't care), and they are still drivers cars. To reach they're full potential you still must have great skill as a driver, but the tool is only as good as the one who weilds it. Think of a TVR as something to PROPERLY prepare you for an Itallian exotic like this. It hones your skills on car with no driver aids at all... teaching you to modulate brakes, listen to tire squeal, sense where & when your getting traction, and how to really get a feel for a car. All of these, will make your time in a Ferrari or Lamborghini even better. And even when u can get that classic SUPURB driving expeirience of a ferrari, some times you just crave a little unpredictabilty and raw machines. Would I compare the two, or even cross shop the two? No, probably not. Would I take the keys to either one with a huge smile and a lot of ass kissing? Oh hell yeah." |
| Ferrari vs TVR?!?!?! |
| Carphonium 4-8-2003 |
Stop this! Some people on these boards insist on comparing TVR's (namely the Tuscan) to other cars universally regarded as brilliant simply because the 0-60 of the Tuscan is good, for some reason they feel that TVR's are somehow in the same league as Ferrari, Lambo etc... Now I am English and I love TVR because they turn out some of the cheapest yet good looking and fastest cars, the point is though there is a reason they are so cheap. Not only do they have poorly developed high drag fibre glass shells but more importantly they they have no electronic driver aids whatsoever. They are completly unforgiving to drive, do you really feel capable of making fast starts or even cornering rapidly in a 350bhp car without traction control? Do you honestly believe you would like to take a car over 170mph without ESP? Most worryingly of all, do you really believe you could brake quickly and safely from 170mph without ABS? If you answered yes to any of those you are either braver or more stupid than I am! Round a track the 360 would shame the Tuscan. If I had to compare any car to the Tuscan it would be the AC Cobra 427 as both are similar in spec and performance even though the Cobra was made in 1965. To some up, please stop comparing TVR's to modern cars that are simply better in every respect apart from price. |

"That is the first time I have heard that calling a british person a pommie is like calling a black person a nigger. Stop the bullshit. Seems like most british people in my country like being called a Pom. Just like Americans are called ""yanks"", New Zealanders called ""Kiwis"" etc...If the word Pom is derogitory then every british person in my country should sue the TV networks, radio stations, advertising companies etc... What rubbish. Now lets get back to talking about cars. I appreciate your views and everyone else view but when people like you start to make comments about what I DID NOT SAY then I will say that your comments are a joke and they are. For the last time, the comparison I was referring to between the 360 and the Tuscan was about looks and only looks. If for some unbelievable reason you want to misinterprete that then I can not help you. Now to close this matter, from now on, I will ignore all your comments (just like I am doing to motorhead) and I suggest you do the same to mine. It was nice chatting with you." |

| Supercharged 24-4-2003 |
"capone dont give that ""imaturity"" retoric,im not some lil punk kid who cant drive,it sad that you have to resort to that, rather then makin valid arguements to defend ur comments. How on earth are my comments a joke?! i'm jus tellin u like it is,jus becoause u dont agree with my views it doesnt make them ne less valid then yours, or anybody elses on this forum. Another thing your such a hypocrite!!! u dont like it when i make ""derogatory"" comments like aussie twats, yet u refer to me as a pommie!! callin a british person a pommie is like callin a black person a nigger!" |
| Supercharged: There you go again... |
| capone 23-4-2003 |
"Supercharged, your comments are a joke. Now you are trying to get me to compare Aussie cars with Pommie cars. Where the hell did that come from ? And please stop defending your stupid comments by saying ""I did not use those words"". The comparison that I made between the Tuscan and the 360 was all about looks. No where did I mention performance. Lastly, I don't know how old you are but you don't sound too mature to me. So please comment about cars and stop using derogatory phases like ""you Aussie twats..."". It is not called for." |
| 360 vs. Tuscan |
| Blaze_667 20-4-2003 |
Comparing comparing comparing. Always comparing. Naturally everyone has their own preferences. Personally i love ferrari, but if i had the money i dont think i would ever buy one, theres always cars id rather have. SO i guess you could say im not the biggest ferrari fan. However, between the tuscan and 360 you are simply left with two works of art. Two of the most masterful machines ever to grace our planet. So rather then compare the two just appreciate both of them. And as for swordfish, I like the decision for the Tuscan. Everyone knows what a Ferrari is, but in North America very few have ever seen or heard of TVR. The Tuscan in that movie was simply just more eye catching. |
| tuscan..... |
| motorhead 20-4-2003 |
a real bloody run for your money. It will pass a 360 spider real easily and with a lot of style. I frankly think the tuscan has more style and sustance then the ferrari but if youre taking aout brand name and class it just has to be the ferrari. You see people nowadays sportscars are catered to different people who want totally different things. For ferrari buyers basically they are paying for the brand name and the performance and looks that come with it but utscan buyers are not that rich but as far as i am concerned they are much more open minded. Just compare the interior of the ferrari and the tuscan. One is a very conventional knobs and switches which is the ferrari the other is like an art museum with fancy LCD speedometers and tachcometer display but instead os knobs you have toys and a veru bright and airy interior. I really respect these two cars a lot but the tuscan gets my vote. |
| Truth hurts |
| Supercharged 19-4-2003 |
"Firstly i neva sed u used those exact words, you used words to that effect when u dissed the tuscan in reply to 8TVR8 comments.you sed and i quote ""To think you want to compare a Tuscan S to the 360 is a joke"".If ne one needs reminding of wot they sed its u, dismissing the tuscan like it wasnt worthy of even gettin comparisions to the 360. Secondly you pointed out that me liking the tuscan is a case of a pom liking a pommie car....er no!! ..i aint that small minded i'd like the tuscan reguardless of wot nationality i am, and if the tuscan was italian, american etc car i'd still like it jus the same, that was a very poor point of argument on ur part . Personally i think ur jus plain jealous that us brits are capable of producing beautiful and sexy cars,if anything looks like a dogs breakfast its the cars u aussie twats make like the holdens and ford falcons" |
| ArtWerkesTT: Don't you start |
| capone 19-4-2003 |
"This forum becomes so frustrating when people do not read other peoples comments correctly. As I said before, the 360 Spider would have been totally out of place in a movie like Swordfish. Yes, that is what I actually said. Then you have people interpreting that as ""the 360 will outperform the Tuscan etc..."" Now lets drop this subject and conclude that the director felt the Tuscan to be more suited for that movie and as I said before if the 360 Spider was used even I would have laughed. If you can not understand that then please stay away from this forum." |
| The reason why the Tuscan was used... |
| ArtWerkesTT 18-4-2003 |
Well actually you're both wrong. The reason why the Tuscan was used because it is a trendy euro style car. Clearly the 360 is euro too, but the film makers wanted the whole movie to have this funky fashionable euro style to it. Thats why all the charachters dressed up in those fancy suits etc... The Tuscan has that funky kind of class to it. It has more spunk than the Ferrari in terms of this fashionable euro style that they used for the movie, and that is why they used the car. |
| Supercharged: You can't read. |
| capone 18-4-2003 |
"Supercharged, you must be either dreaming or you can't read. I've read my previous comments and nowhere did I mention the stupid things you said. Firstly, your comment ""tuscan cannot be easily dismissed as u stated"". Show me where I stated that ? Secondly ""...but u cannot deny the Tuscan, and to say it cannot compeat with the ferarri is rubbish..."". Show me where I said that ? The only thing I said was that the 360 will turn more heads than a Tuscan and for me, the Tuscan looks like a dogs breakfast. Now that you have told me where you come from explains why you like the Tuscan so much. Human nature says that everyone always likes their own and for you a Pom that likes Pommy cars no matter what they look like. And no I am not Italian. Good night." |

| Supercharged 16-4-2003 |
"Well capone,ur right in sayin people hav different tastes, and ofcourse beauty is but in the eyes of the beholder. The only reason i pointed out that the producers of swordfish dropped the 360 in favour of the tuscan, was to illistrate the fact that the tuscan cannot be easily dismissed as u stated. I got nothing against the 360 , but u cannot deny the Tuscan, and to say it cannot compeat with the ferarri is rubbish, you hav to give credit where is it due ,This time around TVR hav finally caught up and superceded the prancing horse. Oh by the way dont give me that crap about ""have u talked to the producers of swordfish"" thats jus a load of bollocks! i dont know where in the world u come from but here in england we hav a show called FIFTHGEAR, they interviewed the producers of swordfish,i dont nessesarly hav to personally talk to the producers of swordfish to prove a fact,if dont believe me u could alway buy the DVD edition of swordfish and check out the makin of swordfish featurette" |
| WHOA! |
| iPaQ86 11-4-2003 |
When the 360 Modena was launched, it didn't please the eyes of the majority, but soon we got used to the shape and began to appreciate it. BUt when they removed the covers from the 360 Spider, jaws dropped, eyes popped out... The 360 is transformed into something even more beautiful in Spider form! It really looks much better than the Modena, and you just lose that wee bit of 0.1s in terms of acceleration to a 100km/h over the Modena. Beautiful car, beautiful people, beautiful scenary, and beautiful price. |
| Supercharged: That's your opinion |
| capone 3-4-2003 |
Sorry Supercharged, I have to disagree with you over the looks. To me, the 360 will turn more heads than a Tuscan. As I said before, the Tuscan looks like a dogs breakfast but that is my view and you don't have to agree with it (which you obviously don't). And please, stop your bullshit about the SWORDFISH producers choosing the Tuscan over the 360 because it is better looking. How do you know ? Have you spoken to the producers ? NO. So shut up. (Please don't respond by saying you read it somewhere because I will not believe you). It is obvious that a movie like Swordfish a 360 spider would have been totally out of place. Even I would have laughed if the 360 was used. |
| get ur facts right lads |
| Supercharged 1-4-2003 |
TVR 1st of all lemme jus say that ferrari doesnt own fiat! FIAT owns FERRARI!!,they acquired ferrari in the late 1960s, 2ndly learn to spell! bort?!?!? wtf!! its BOUGHT!!! Capone ur right in sayin that ferrari likes to keep its cars exclusive , and i argee that if ferraris were more affordable they would lose part of their appeal and allure, however the Tuscan S is more than capable of humbling the 360!! The tuscan is a road going rocketship, check out the stats it beats the 360 in terms of dynamics. In terms of looks the tuscan is one of the most breath takin cars ive eva seen!! ive had the pleasure of seeing one in the fleash , its achingly beatiful, and steals the show from the 360 any day. One more thing the producers of the movie SWORDFISH were initially gonna have john travolta drive a 360, but decieded to go for the tuscan , because they considered it more exotic and better lookin, talk about losing a beauty contest!! |
| TVR, your comments are pathetic |
| capone 1-4-2003 |
"TVR, you don't have a clue. The 360 Spider is one of the sexiest cars going around. Not only looks but performance. All the reviews that I have read in magazines over the pass 2 years have not faulted this car in any way (maybe the price tag) but that is Ferrari. All Ferraris have a high price tag. Ferrari do not want ""ordinary"" people to own them. They are exclusive cars and that is the way it has to be. This car is so desirable that in my country there is a 3 year waiting list. To think you want to compare a Tuscan S to the 360 is a joke. To begin with the Tuscan looks like a dogs breakfast. All that other crap you wrote about ""Ferrari is only good at F1"" etc... is based on sheer ignorance." |
| bort for the badge |
| TVR 30-3-2003 |
I think that most Ferraris are bort for the badge. A 360 costs 103000+ you could buy a Tuscan S for 48800 and its British the only Ferraris that are good are the F40 and Enzo. Ferrari are nothing in the road car branch without Pininfarina look at the multipla (Ferrari do own Fiat). Ferrari might go bankrupt if Fiat dont sell the now fiat stilo and GM would buy them out. Only thing that Ferrari are good at is F1 no other form of racing you might think they have got there own race series 360 challenge so has TVR the Tuscan challenge no they did not copy Ferrari. |

| The perfect car |
| NFN-4ever 10-2-2003 |
The Ferrari 360 Spider has got to be the God of all cars. It's design and form are so brilliant that it aint funny, because it's a dream the fewest of us can forfill... But it's good that we have a car to set the standard. GO FERRARI! |

well, it is a 175k car.... but 175k still wont get you a McLaren. |
| Nicer than it seems |
| Richkidcarz 27-11-2002 |
My father purchased this car in August of 2002, and hes had it for about 4 months now. He loves it. It drives and looks so much better than u make it seem. The exhaust note semms like something out of a car enthusiast's heaven. Not to mention the looks people give you on the road. I am only 13, but if i had 175k to spend on a car, this is what id buy. |
