I think this car may be the most fun to drive and best looking Ferrari since the 275 GTB/4. It also holds the distinction of really being the last Ferrari purely controlled by the driver and not by "robots" such as the F1 System and traction and stability control devices. Double clutching this car on an empty twisty road with the traction turned off really is the purest essence of driving. Finally, it also may be the best sounding Ferrari since the introduction of fuel injection.

this car is awesome.it has one of the sleekest lines.beautifully designed by pininfarina.over here in dubai it costs around 700k to 800k dirhams.my guess is that the perfect rival for it Could be the porsche carrera gt.its cabin's position is perfectly balanced ,the engine is not much longer than the rear like the z3.with 485 hp v12 engine this is my favourite ferrari

"barchetta in italian does mean ""little boat"". when the 166MM came out in the late 40's, it looked like a little boat, so the name stuck. the 166MM was a spider, a convertable, or whatever you like to call it; so the name barchetta stayed with ferraris that were open air. this does not include spiders, or convertables, it is just for the permanant open air cars. so the 550 barchetta is truely a barchetta because it does not have a top (just the temporary one, but its not built into the car). like many other ferrari things...it is tradition!"

"Yes. I agree with most of you boys, this is a stunner. Unfortunately in my country, I have not seen one on the road. Some time ago, I read in some magazine that Ferrari were considering putting a ""opening and closing"" roof just like the 360 Spyder. The Ferrari engineers put it into the ""too hard"" basket. I believe that when the 550 came out, Ferrari never intended to bring out a ""spyder"" version of the car unlike the 360. It will be interesting to see if the replacement to the 550/575 will come with a ""opening and closing"" roof version. Hopefully that will be soon. Can't wait."
 Beautiful car

best part is the sticker on the inside that the top isn't supposed to be up over 70mph. If that were true, when would it be up?

I got news for you man, just about every car produced since the late 70's comes with catylitic converters. Stop bitching about cats. Car companies use them so their cars will sell in America, the single largest automotive market in the world. It's also to help save the envirnment, and while some would thing that I just asume burn the forests as flush a toilet, I am infact a big proponent of evirnmental protection programs. Besides energy 2, just about any well informed automotive enthusiast or technician can tell you that cats do basically jack sh!t to hender the sound of an engine, that's what muffler's are for, hence the term MUFFLERS. Not to mention the fact that modern high-flow catylitic converters impair performance as little as possible, maybe 2-3%. So shut up about CATS man, you obviously don't kow what your talking about. Besides, if you can't hear this motor, you need to go get your hearing checked. I go to car shows in Houston all the time and I can tell you from expeirience that this car has a bad ass sound.

"This car resembles everything a perfect sportscar needs to have; Beautiful Pininfarina Styling, definetly not underpowered, and when you see one, and hear its Ferrari V12 engine, you just cringe and become speechless. This car has long been my dream car, and I am just waiting to see the 575M 514HP engine be put into a Barchetta Format."""
somebody still may miss the roof

It's a showcar. And that's clear. But I don't really see the point in making such slight changes to an existing car to make a showcar out of it. The Ferrari Rossa is much more what this barchetta was supposed to be, in my opinion. And the roof! Now I know people who can afford this kind of cars don't really care about using another car if it gets rainy, but still, was it such a big problem to make a decent foldable top? And more, how long does it take before they eventually plan to create a real 550 spyder? Something that can be a proper heir to the Daytona spyder? I'm sure such a car could easily sell more than the normal 550s ...even more if it could come with a foldable metallic top like the one you can find on a Mercedes SL.
 the nicest looking ferrari ever!!!

this is just the best ferrari (looks) ever. the picture i saw in topgear the nagazine was absolutely stunning. The car was dark black and had silver five spoke alloys and the yellow interior really matched the black exterior colour. The four exaust pipes were the nicest looking i have ever seen. There were four of them sticking out of the back. i really think 300,000 is not much for the car since it looks so good. Excellent!!!

This special edition Ferrari dosent look right. the roll hoops are too big for the car, making it appear narrower than it really is. again its got cats on the engine, so you cant really hear it, and costs $300,000. Ferrari should of made a 550 stripped out version , like lamborghini did with its diablo- the sv over and ouot

This car is a real sex symbol ! the lines are soo sleek . It was a classic the day it left the factory . One of the greatest Ferrari of the modern era . Its fast enough with a top speed of 300 kmh , has a huge ammount of torque , and a sound to die for . The only thing where it could be better apparently are the brakes..
