May be powerful but by the look of those pictures it doesn't look as beautiful as the standard murcielago.

I agree the new LP640 is even more aggressive than the old Murcielago. My connection informed me that he was told that Lamborghini is having trouble creating a frame and support strong enough to handle the new torque of the LP640's motor for a Roadster. The current roadster is a blast to drive and is an amazing machine. I can just imagine it with the increased horsepower and torque.

According to a source. The LP640 will become the standard for future Murcielago styling and power. The Roadster version is delayed becasue the engineers are currently working on a way to keep the frame stiff. The new motor's torquq is so powerful that the frame was being tweeked on Roadster prototypes.

This new Lamborghini is very impressive. It looks fiercer, more powerful, and faster. finally, a nice, fast, high quality Italian V12 supercar that will blow minds! A roadster would be nice too.

I'm very impressed with this new model. Lamborghini didn't change the recipe and it worked. This car look even lower to floor than the old one and has a much more aggressive look, which I think will appeal to more people. I already know that people who weren't fond of the old car have had their opinions changed by this one.
 engine position

No, the engine of the LP640 is positioned in a normal longitudinal position. The rumours you may have heard might apply to the concept Miura that was recently presented and suggestions were made that this car could have a transverse engine, just like the original. If that car will ever be built, very unlikely though, it will also adopt a longitudinal lay-out.
 Transversly mounted?

Im pretty sure that i read somewhere, probably on this site, that the v12 in this car was mounted transverly along the body, supposably for improved weight distribution and better handling. Does any one have any information on this? possibly a picture of the engine pay to prove/disprove it?
